Banaba and its leaves, is a popular plant used in homeopathic remedies in many countries around the world. For example, in the Philippines it has been traditionally used to aid in cleansing the liver. In Japan, Banaba tea has become quite popular and known as "slimming tea." In the US, many weight-loss formulas are now using Banaba as a natural component in weight-loss supplements. Tropical Traditions was one of the first to offer a full herb supplement made from wild organic Banaba leaves. Tropical Traditions began producing Banaba supplements in 2000.
